Kumbh Mela is a mass gathering of Hindu Pilgrims to bathe in the holy rivers (Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati,). There are four such melas and they are Haridwar Kumbh Mela, Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha, Ujjain Simhastha and Allahabad (Prayag) Kumbh Mela. At Ujjain and Nashik, the Mela held while a planet is in Leo, also known as Simhastha as well. At Allahabad and Haridwar, an Ardha Kumbh Mela is held every sixth year and a Maha ("Great") Kumbh Mela happens after 144 years.
